Find out what the Bible says about spending, saving, budgeting, investing, planning, goal setting, and building wealth.
This personal finance course helps anyone, of any age, get the foundational wisdom they need to become Godly Stewards. We’ll take 10-weeks to look through 4 keys to success: Discovery (numbers & truth), Crisis Management (putting out fires & building margin), Know Your Why (it’s not really about money), and Building Capacity (becoming trustworthy with much).
Groundwork is based on Dave Ramsey’s Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum and some of Stephen De Silva’s Prosperous Soul material. Both adapted with permission for our Canadian students.
We use Dave Ramsey because his curriculum is excellent at teaching the practical skills behind managing money and addresses may of the lies people believe about money. We added Stephen K De Silva material because he digs deeply into the spiritual side of money. Both teachers work from a doctrine of “faithful with little”. That means learning how to be faithful with what you have so you are in a position to be able to handle so much more (blessings, time, talent & treasure) – thus becoming a powerful person (influential, effective, excellent) in God’s Kingdom. (Luke 16:10, Luke 19:17)
